Maker’s Mark – La Mesa Dinner in Atlantic City

The Latino Coalition had the distinct pleasure of partnering with Beam Suntory for another amazing Maker’s Mark “La Mesa” Dinners on International Women’s Day, March 8th at Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar in Atlantic City. Elba Giron of Beam Suntory, and her dynamic team, were magnificent hosts at this intimate dinner for our Latino Coalition leadership and VIP guests.

Fabulous, unique Maker’s Mark Bourbon cocktails were paired with delicious Cuban cuisine throughout the night. An added treat for all guests was an opportunity to create their very own uniquely scented candle in their take-home Maker’s Mark mug.

In honor of International Women’s Day, we learned about Marjorie “Margie” Samuels, wife of Maker’s Mark founder T. William Samuels, and how this innovative woman gave the whiskey its name, drew its label, and thought up the wax dipping top that gives the bottle its distinctive look when it was introduced to the market in 1959.

The Latino Coalition, led by Jeanette Prenger, CiCi Rojas, IOM, Delia Marin, and Lizette Gonzalez, would like to thank Elba Giron, the Maker’s Mark team, and each one of our illustrious guests: Elizabeth C. Berman and Randy Berman, of Inca Kola; Rafael Cuellar, MBA, ShopRite Grocery Stores and TLC Board Member; Michael Fernández, of V Me Media; Rafael “Ray” Collazo, UnidosUS Action Fund Inc.; and Ralph W. Tejeda (PCQI), Morris County Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to our next “La Mesa” dinner. ¡Gracias!
