WASHINGTON, D.C., April 19, 2010- The Latino Coalition (TLC) announces its preliminary line-up of confirmed Congressional leaders who will speak at TLC's Annual Economic Summit and Business Procurement Event, May 4-5 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. "Having a bipartisan agenda is a testament to The Latino Coalition's ongoing mission to inform and educate our members on key legislation pending on Capitol Hill,"said Hector V. Barreto, TLC's Chairman and Former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (2001-2006).

This year's roster will include Republican Minority Whip Eric I. Cantor, Congressman Joe Baca (D-CA), Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN), Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA), and Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX).

Republican Minority Whip Eric I. Cantor represents the Seventh District of Virginia. He won re-election to Congress in November 2008, and holds a seat on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

Congressman Joe Baca represents the 43rd District of California. He serves on agricultural, financial services and natural resources committees, and led the Congressional Hispanic Caucus during the 110th Congress (2007-2008).

Congressman Mike Pence represents the 6th District of Indiana. He was most recently elected to a fifth term in Congress in November 2008, and was simultaneously and unanimously elected by House Republicans to serve as House Republican Conference Chairman.

Congressman Xavier Becerra represents the 31st District of California. He serves as Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and is a Senior Member of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

These elected officials will address the current issues facing small and medium-sized Latino business owners across the nation today. In addition to these speakers, The Latino Coalition will provide business matchmaking and procurement sessions as substantive tools for Latino entrepreneurs in attendance at the two-day summit. "Nothing could be more important than creating a marketplace for small business owners to have access to real opportunity and contracts this is where the rubber hits the road,"added Barreto.
